It is good to see more and more Forex robot creators publishing live results rather than a set of back tests or screen shots. It was FapTurbo at the end of last year who broke new ground with their live results published directly on their sales page. In fact much of Fap Turbo‘s claim to fame was that they were the first robot publishers to do so. Raising the bar for all Forex robots.

While it is great to have forex EA creators publish their own live results it still not so easy to compare one set of results to another. Which is why I am returning to my project to compare all the top forex robots in both live and back tests. I’d say there is a good reason Forex Impact won’t be re-opening Correlation Code this time. That’s most likely because the Quad Charting software and strategies are almost ready for prime time. However I’m not here to just show you the good results, there are some bad ones and downright ugly ones too. Seems Gridbot just blew out my demo account and shut itself down. Well at least it shut itself down before wiping out completely. It will take a little time to figure out what went wrong here and I’ll fire an email off to support just to make sure everything was setup correctly.

Although it is not entirely obvious from the Metatrader result page, actual trades began on June 15 but most of the account loss occurred in less than 3 days. When I have my live trade results software up and running, this will be much more transparent but for the moment, we’ll have to settle for the Metatrader detailed report graph.

One big issue with testing so many different Expert Advisors (Forex robots) is the time involved in collecting, preparing and publishing the latest results. And as I add more and more EAs to the mix, I can see this is going to become a real issue. So over the next few days, I’ll be putting together a script that will automatically post the results from all EAs being tested, with fresh updates every hour. That way you’ll be able to see in almost real time how a particular EA performs in live forward tests.

Although Gomega Xray began with a few days lead over Conqueror and MegaDroid, it has outperformed the other EAs by a very large margin.

The results for GridBot were provided by my colleague, as so far my installation of Grdibot has not yet opened any trades. This may be due to some incompatibility issue with the FXDD version of MT4 and the workings of GridBot.

Forex Gridbot has been trading for less than 2 weeks and Gomega GBPJPY less than 1 week, so there is not a lot that can be read into these results so far. What is interesting here is that both Gridbot and Gomega GBPJPY trade on the Pound Yen (Gridbot also trades the USD JPY). It is going to very interesting to compare the performance of these two Expert Advisors over the coming weeks. Although I have a pretty good idea on which one is going to come out on top

A year ago I was the biggest skeptic of Forex trading and especially automated trading systems. I had to change my tune however when a friend of mine quit his day job after a year of manual trading. He is one of the 5% who can make money trading Forex manually. Even though he continues to be successful, I know I don’t have the right temperament to sit down in front of the computer and trade manually, day in and day out. Manual trading just isn’t for me.

Then six months ago, by chance I met someone who was successfully trading Forex with an automated system. He was so overwhelmingly enthusiastic about his trading software that I just had to see it. 1. Forex Girbot has been designed to trade the GBP JPY and the USD JPY currency pair. The GBP/JPY on a normal market day moves in a trading band that is consistent with the Gridbot strategy.

2. The system uses a Virtual Grid which means you wont see any limit orders on your screen. As all orders are kept in memory.

3. Gridbot uses ADX/ATR formulas to determine when to close a trade.

3. If you are running Gridbot on an account with Alpari, you need to adjust the trading start and end time to – StartTime: 18. EndTime: 3.

And for FXDD – StartTime 19 EndTime 4.

4. They have two versions of the EA, one for an account size of $500 and another for an account size of $1000.You need to adjust the lot size according to the account size.

Of course I’m running my demo account at FXDD with an account size of $5000, so it was necessary to also change lot size to 30K max. 30K per trade or $3 per pip.

So how has Gridbot performed over the past 7 trading days? Well it has placed a lot of buy and sell limits but has not yet opened any positions. So at this time there is little more to report. Perhaps there is something wrong with the way I’ve set Gribot up, so I’ll investigate this further over the weekend. I may even remove and reinstall Gridbot, just in case this is some glitch in my installation that is preventing it for opening a trade.

Of course this should never have happened, especially to someone as experienced as he was. So what truly went wrong? Quite simply he became greedy, trading by the no longer trading by a system. He wasn’t running stop losses and when he had a chain of bad trades he just poured more money to try and win back what he lost. In brief, he was no longer trading he was betting, he let his emotions take over and had lost his edge. He was no longer trading by a winning system but more like a craps player who just doubles the stakes on each loss. This is precisely the way not to trade Forex.

This is just one of the numerous areas where a Forex Robot has an edge over most human traders. They trade by a system and they don’t get emotional. A good robot can recognize and conform to any market condition and trade suitably. It can pick the best time to open and leave a trade, set stop loses to reduce risk and even know when not to trade at all. It is during times of high volatility that massive profits are made by the best traders. However there’s small margin for mistakes when you’re trading the forex markets. Having the correct tools and trading system for the conditions is what differentiates the winners from the losers. The 2 main tools for day traders, are Expert Advisors Forex Robots and Signal Generators. Occasionally called push button trading, a signal generator tells you when to buy or sell. Grid Bot is an one of the most recent currency trading robots to be released for the Metatrader4 trading platform. Till not long ago, Expert Advisors ( EA ) were available only to money managers, hedge funds and banks. Until the last few years, EAs were well out of reach for anybody but the most dedicated professional traders.

That would make FOREX MegaDroid the best robot available at this time. We’ve had Megadroid trading on a $5000 demo account for the past few weeks, its several hundred dollars in profit and hasn’t made a losing trade yet.
